Mortgage Fraud

State and Federal Mortgage Fraud Defense Attorney

Given the current state of the real estate market in Florida and across the United States, government officials are more aggressively prosecuting alleged acts of mortgage and real estate fraud. The term "mortgage fraud" is a broad term that describes a wide range of criminal acts committed by lawyers, realtors, borrowers, lenders and others in the mortgage and real estate industries. Those who have been accused of fraud face severe criminal penalties and need experienced defense to protect their rights.

If you are under investigation for mortgage fraud or if you have already been charged with a criminal offense, you need the experienced representation of my Miami law firm. My name is Jose M. Quinon and for more than 34 years, I have represented countless numbers of clients accused of mortgage fraud and other state and federal criminal acts in Florida, Puerto Rico and throughout the United States. Together with a dedicated staff, I understand what it takes to mount an effective defense for charges of fraud.

Contact my firm to speak with me about your charges of mortgage and real estate fraud and learn more about your options in criminal defense.

Mortgage and Real Estate Fraud

Mortgage fraud may be committed in a variety of ways by anyone involved in a real estate transaction, including sellers, buyers, mortgage brokers, title closers, land developers and real estate lawyers. Fraud may be used to include a number of potentially criminal acts, such as:

  • Intentionally providing inaccurate information on loan applications about income, employment and other financial information
  • Artificial inflation of property appraisals in order to obtain larger real estate loans
  • False claims about the intention to use the property as a residence instead of an investment property
  • Failure to disclose financial liabilities
  • Fraudulent investment operations or "Ponzi schemes" that pays false returns to investors
  • Falsification of HUD forms and other documents

These charges are very serious and the consequences of conviction are incredibly severe. At my firm, I know what my clients are facing and work hard to provide proper representation in cases of mortgage fraud.
